Volunteers create a new flower bed at Stanlake Meadow

Volunteers gathered at the weekend to work at Stanlake Meadow.  Led by local resident Rebecca Howard, they created a new flowerbed and planted trees and bulbs in the area. The trees, 3 Silver birches and one Rowan, had been purchased by Twyford Parish Council to replace the Rowans lost over the summer. A 6 ft Horse Chestnut, homegrown by the Howard family, was also planted.  Fun was had planting the 150 Crocus and Daffodil bulbs which were provided by Dobbies Garden Centre for the project.  Local arborist Winson Woodcraft delivered bark chippings which were used on top of the bed, around the trees and to top up the woodland paths going through the Copse.
